Well don't sit on it NOW! :D That's one thing my Mom used to talk about missing a *lot* from when they grew up in Worcester, MA - sitting on the porch as the neighbors took their walks. The family moved to CA when she was 16 after here Dad died and she never really adjusted to the 'hands-off' CA way. I was not crazy about it either!
My mom would be proud *now* I think of me telling everyone about her, but during her life we had many a struggle . . . she wanted too much for and from me and I didn't have it easy. But I loved her, which she had a great deal of trouble accepting - from anyone! I didn't really "get her" until later in my life. I don;t think she *ever* understood me. I am still learning about her in some ways. I wish my Dad were still alive to answer some of my questions, but . . . my stepdad has a 'selective
my stepdad has a 'selective memory' when it comes to my mother, which I can understand, but it's had to deal with at times.
