A CALL TO REPENTANCE
PLEASE READ JOEL CHAPTER 2 VERSES 12 THROUGH 27
I don’t have a lot of room in this format to write a long message so it is necessary to read the above scriptures to get the full meaning of this word.
VERSE 17; LET THE PRIEST WHO MINISTER TO THE LORD WEEP BETWEEN THE PORCH AND THE ALTER. LET THEM SAY “ SPARE YOUR PEOPLE O LORD” AND DO NOT GIVE YOUR HERITAGE TO REPROCH, THAT THE NATIONS SHOULD RULE OVER THEM. WHY SHOULD THEY SAY AMOUNG THE PEOPLE “WHERE IS THEIR GOD?
There are 2 kinds of priest in the world, those who minister to the Lord and those who minister to the people. Those who minister to the Lord tell the people what they need to hear and those who minister to the people tell them what they want to hear.
When Moses went up the mountain to meet with God the people down below crafted a golden calf with the help of Aaron, the high priest. Aaron told Moses “ the people made me do it “ so in order to please the people Aaron created a new and improved god, one that better served the peoples wants. They did not want the 10 commandments or the true word of God.
In the book of Exodus chapter 3 and verse 14it says “ AND GOD SAID TO MOSES “ I AM WHO I AM” AND HE SAID “ THUS TELL THEM , I AM HAS SENT ME TO THEM” We are to change , we are not to change God.
When God invited Moses up to the mountain He also invited the people but the people declined and chose to stay in their tents, you see it is easer to let a priest bring the word back because you can argue with a priest and say it is not so and they can continue to live the way they want to. When we hear from the Lord and except Him as Lord of our life it is difficult to argue with Him. The word say’s that people will heap up for then selves teachers that will tickle their ears and that they will love to have it so.
I would like to encourage every one to take the time to be still and hear from the Lord, 10 min. with Him is worth more than a 1000 hr of preaching by man, don’t stay in your tents but instead seek the one that first loved you. God bless : pastor mike
