As the story goes...
On the night of September 12, 1952, a group of boys were watching a bright star travel across the Flatwoods sky when it suddenly fell to the earth over a nearby farm. Curious, they and two adults set out to investigate, when to their horror encountered a hovering 12 ft. tall "mechanical being" coming out of the woods towards them!
Dubbed the "Flatwoods Green Monster", the story was broadcasted across the country. Fearful of widespread panic, the US Government dismissed the eyewitness accounts and officially explained the sighting as a "near-by passing meteor and an owl in the tree".
Now 53 years later, the once silenced eyewitness story is re-told with fanfare and celebration for all to relive and enjoy! |
