Brome grass near the creek . . .
The creek water is drying up fast, only two spots have any depth, one here, and one in the pasture.
Ed and I walked down thataway tonight (Dakota tagged along) and it was COOL there!
The cement is in a spot where the creek bank washed away in the Great Flood of 1972 . . .
They had seeded the clouds, you see, and . . . well, it was a Great Big Mess.
Seriously.
Mega flooding, lots of damage and deaths.
Cars washed away,
buildings damaged, etc.
This place got off easy.
Rapid City was hit very hard. (Rapid Creek is notorious for its flooding, we live on Box Elder Creek.) |
