Sunrise yesterday
First one without Boss to greet since April, 1995
I first "met" Boss when he was 6 months old )and of course fell in LOVE) at his breeder's farm in San Juan Bautista, CA, USA.
When he failed his stallion approval at four, I "bought" him "on time" - I paid for his transport from his temporary home in Virginia as a start.
Then the breeder, also a good friend, and I made a deal. I paid for Boss by exchange: I would pay for shipping (again from Virginia) his half sister Margi to my ranch in California and then by paying all costs and caring for her, who was 7-8 months pregnant. I would also raise her foal, Poem. Poem was born in the evening on March 29, 1996. I then also raised, cared for and trained her (and cared for her mother) until Poem was 1-1/2, at which time the breeder was able to take both of them back.
I learned a lot. It was a great experience.
And it brought Boss into my life for the next eleven wonderful years.
What a lucky lady I am!
