"Three Moon Experiment"
It's a HOT one - 95 degrees!
I wish we could take some a that rain off of you easterners' lands, we're dry out here.
I pray you are all safe. What a mess the weather is!
I am still "sitting shiva" for Boss.
Someday there will be another horse; meanwhile I have my Big Lovey, Copenhagen, and Ed has Dakota. Both of whom are very subdued - Cope knows the score, Dakota is puzzled.
All but Copenhagen simply "came into my life". Copenhagen is the only horse I ever actively shopped for, and he was last on my list.
There are many nice, young-ish well broke, easy-going horses out here at reasonable expense. I don't show in dressage any more (I may show Dakota in pleasure classes as he is a stud and needs to be "seen") so I don't have hi-falutin' "talent" requirements - soundness (as in not lame and not likely to be) and a good disposition are most important.
When the time is right, I will know.
I have lost many a cat and a couple of horses; the next ones somehow find me, usually.
Derrick has a horse named Cody. We are going to try to get down here SOON (from where the elk pictiures were taken, Nemo, SD. That's his grandparent's place).
Cody is a tip-top working ranch/cow horse who is retired from hard work. Derrick rode him on his first roundup, and the guy who owned him said "You take him home"; this year he gave Derrick Cody's papars (AQHA).
We have a picture of Derrick on Cody . . .somehwere . . . prolly on our old PC which is currently in storage. He's a nice palomino.
He will be good company for Copenhagen.
Then I will, at some point, "discover" another younger horse and then we will be four again.
Thank you all for all of your WARM KIND thoughts and comments . . . it startles me that I can convey my feelings for Bosss as well as I must have, but I am glad I was able to share him with all of my wonderful Amigos and Amigas.
He was my own Black Beauty, a dream come true. Altho' the dream of rising to FEI dressage was aborted, and his life was too short (his breed usually lives beyond 30), I still knew him for almost all of it and he was "mine" and I was "his" for 11 fun and lively years.
Bless you all!
