New bug to our porchlight - macro, no flash
I have submitted this to "www.bugguide.net" for ID as it looks like a damsel/dragonfly, but they do not have antennae like this!
Hmmmmmmmmmm!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE
This is a mature "antlion"!
The larvae are often known as "doodlebugs" and in one species, dig little pits for ants to fall into for food! Adults are evidently lazy and are often attrected to . . . porchlights!
from www.bugguide.net and www.whatsthatbug.com and some googled sites . . .
So THAT's what all the little pit holes in our pasture are!
