DuckBoy Episode #14 Words and More Words
DuckBoy has met the woman of flowing hair and then she disappears like a dream or a daily comic strip. He continues through the caverns lured by the shapes and colors of the stalactites and stalagmites, the sound of dripping and the slight whistle of wind that ocassionally makes resonant deep organ sounds echo along the walls. He is drawn like a dolphin to a tuna net. He enters a strange room where words swirl around him like a philosophy seminar or a mobile poem. Should I stay or should I go? His thoughts clash like cymbals in a Bedouin tent. He stops and tries to take in the possible symbolic meaning as if he were a museum goer looking at Pollock's paintings and wondering what they hell is going on. Letters fall like snowflakes and words form and dissolve, then come together under him and over him as he feels himself fading in and out as if he too is a word or something unreal. He thinks, "I almost have it,it's right there in front of me,behind me,around me..Inside ,outside, upside down..." He feels queasy and closes his eyes. "I'll try another day when I have some dramamine". |
